You guys. Its a good thing there are some things too obscure for tumblr, because had I found more people talking about Tom Sellers and Adam Simmonds and how absolutely adorable they were on last weeks round of the Great British Menu, I was actually going to cave and get a tumblr. Luckily there were only one or two posts old posts mentioning them. But I am kind of sad.

Because I would quite happily like to delve into an epic story about their developing friendship and how Adam repays Tom for going first with his dessert, thus saving Adam from certain elimination after his went wrong. And spends some time describing all the hugging they do and how that makes them feel in their pants. I dont think I've seen chefs in this competition hug each other that much. And manages to capture how they are both such obnoxious little shits on the outside, but have a soft squishy core really.

Seriously though. This is rivals the time I really wanted some BBC childrens presenter fic for moments when I really wish I had the capacity to write fic because I'd request these rarest of rare fics for Yuletide and hope in vain that someone else is as depraved unique as I am.

If you want to know what I'm rambling about: Go here, and watch S9 E21-25. If you like watching cooking competition shows you may also enjoy this.

Ugh. I want to do things to this song.

In other news, after resisting for so long - I feel like I'm almost on the cusp of giving in to Tumblr. It seems the tipping point of finding interesting people has been reached, so its almost worth it. Dilemma.

"Although my mind is here, my heart just wants to fly"

I am super in love with the Maida Vale live version of this song.

But not for what you're thinking. No. I listen to a lot of Radio 1, and if there is going to be 'strong language' or 'adult themes' or whatever, they always have a warning at the beginning of the show. What I realised one day is that the wording of those warnings is very sneaky.

"If you are easily offended, find another show to listen to"

It amuses me that they choose to phrase it that way. Because they have a point - the world seems to be full of people who are quick to take offense at the smallest thing. It drives me nuts. So I like to see this as the BBC subtly making a point.

I've had this song on repeat most of the day. The words 'lovely and gorgeous and lush' come to mind if I had to describe it.

Something you said made me lose it again
I can't remember the last time you made me feel safe
There's no room for love, no time for understanding
Sometimes I start a fight just to see if you care

This is a bit old, but reason #47 I love rugby (you should really watch the video): Body paint!

Also, even if I'm not really a Chiefs fan, this made me giggle:

In other news, woo Olympics! Archery is strangely fascinating to watch. I missed most of the gymnastics :( but I have watched a bit of everything else mostly (trampolining!). Good times for sports junkies :D

So, Teen Wolf 2.06

Hmmmm )

In conclusion, show continues to be awesome. Need to know more about this Jackson storyline yo!

See now, I'm guilty of doing this in the past, and I'm trying to move away from it, but its strange how I constantly see people talk about Teen Wolf who start by saying 'Its such a terrible show, its the worst - but I cant stop watching it/writing fic about it!'. And I realise that in a way it might be one of those fandom-language things, but in my head its starting to feel a lot like....show shaming? The way people feel the need to pre-emptively say that a show/band/pairing is bad/terrible before they can talk about it so that they don't feel embarassed for watching a certain type of show? Its like, I'm going to hate on the show first so that when other people do it - it doesnt matter/make me look/feel bad....

I dont know. Random observation. Also badly formulated.

The point of this post is: I found someone's thoughts on S1 of Teen Wolf and she manages to say in actual words what is so great about the show. Its not perfect, but its a lot better than people give it credit for, and I really wish it would get more actual love rather than just people being embarassed and putting it down love.

Oh shit guys. Things just got real on Teen Wolf. I think I'm gonna have to stop saying how terrible it is because from the way S2 is shaping up, the amount of awesome is going to outweigh the terrible-ness by quite a bit. Really, I know most people are quick to dismiss MTV shows and I cannot lie, S1 was kinda heavy on the annoying teen part, but they have really stepped up their game so far with added plot and character development which is awesome. Next time you have nothing to watch, give it a shot! (She says, who still hasnt watched S3 of Justified.....Bad me!)

And I'm so down with any show in which minor spoiler ) Love love love how they deal with women/teenagers on this show. So yes, episode 3 was kinda awesome, and luckily for me, it looks like they're maybe not going to go quite down the path which seemed a bit obvious and predictable, so kudos to them.

In other news: Kiiiiiiiiiings! Got the job done finally :)

In other other news, there is aaaalll the rugby on right now so Saturdays are basically spent plonked in front of my laptop watching it all. Its beautiful really. I've missed it!

I really need to get on someone to make me an icon with all the sports I follow. It would save me so much hassle when trying to get around my limited icon space!

Anyway, in honour of the fact that tomorrow David Pocock is going to captain the Australian national side for the first time (with a full cap and everything that is), I figured I'd make this post - which I've been thinking about for quite some time entitled:

David Pocock how are you even real?

Lets get you started. David Pocock is a rugby (union) player and he posts pictures of himself (and his teammates)like this on twitter:

Now that I have your attention.. )

In conclusion, perfect human being. This concludes todays post on why rugby players > all other sports players. And remember:

Nero - Must Be The Feeling (Delta Heavy Remix) by Delta Heavy

This song has been giving me all the feelings this evenings. It makes me so happy I just want to roll around in it. Bleepy noises are the best (wait for the drop around 1.25).

I havent been out dancing in too long. Its starting to get to me.

So, apparently I have not posted about The Bugle here before, which is an oversight of epic proportions on my part, because it is the best podcast to ever exist in all of human history.

This weeks episode focused was a lady special, and is a good example of why I love it. Most of the items were focused on female inequality around the world, thus serving to remind me a)how lucky I am b)there's still such a long way to go, all the while c)making me cry with laughter.

Just, if you dont want to listen to the entire thing, listen from about 18.45 to them discussing the recent debate about contraception cover under health insurance, and their advice to all women should they ever come across Rick Santorum. Literally wiping tears from my eyes. Also, hard to disagree.

Bugle 183 - Bugle Lady Special by The Bugle

True fact: The Bugle is pretty much the only podcast I have time for these days. Listening back to old episodes (and thus old news) is still hilarious; Bugle 132 on the budget cuts in England from 1.5 years ago is a classic, as are all the ones related to the royal wedding. And ofcourse,

Soooo this new LJ feature is somewhat disturbing.

Lots of people are saying that it was always possible to track people from their IP address, but this just makes it a lot more prominent, and apparently very specific.

I guess I'll be using a proxy a lot more...

In other news, saw the trailer for Retreat today. JAMIE BELL HOW ARE YOU SO HOT.

Yeah, I cant wait for this to be out.

And speaking of Jamie Bell, some pics I hadnt seen before. And some new to me ones here as well, but you need a password for the full size :(

Oh, I also meant to post this ages ago, but I forgot:

Justified Production Blog

If you have time, try and read some of the older entires as well. Theres some great interviews with the cast as well as some of the writers of the show. And they had one post about how they go about writing an episode, which for me was super cool to see.

yaaaaay
