Feb. 25th, 2004 06:38 pmAargh. So, I just need to throw my 2 cents in here. Because it seems to be everywhere I go (i.e. not just lj)
I have no words to express what exactly I think of Bush. I can't even begin to comprehend how someone can think like that. Gay people deserve exactly the same rights as anyone else, and though I don't exactly support gay marriage, I wholeheartedly believe they deserve civil unions.
I'm just annoyed. There's a message board I go to alot, and theres been a whole debate about all this stuff lately. And this one guy has just frustrated me beyond belief. Like, I just want to bang my head against the wall repeatedly.
How? Why?

If civil unions had the same legal strength as marriage, then I might agree. But civil unions give significantly fewer legal rights to same-sex couples compared to marriage. So it seems discriminatory and unfair to prevent gay marriage. I see it as a legal issue, not a religious one.

For some reason I thought they did. Bad me. But what I was trying to say is that they deserve the same rights as a married couple.
